Planning & Zoning

The Montgomery County Building and Zoning Department reviews and issues permits for construction, demolitions, and electrical inspections. The staff are responsible for most of Montgomery County, including the Town of Wingate. The County Building Department also issues new 911 addresses and maintains the address database for the unincorporated and incorporated areas of the County. It also handles land use information, building, Subdivision, Flood control, and Sugar Creek ordinances. They are responsible for reviewing rezoning and other applications for the Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals.
